ITEM: Supports a wide range of projects that aim to increase economic literacy, especially the best way to teach the subject (research, curriculum development); the impact of economic education(policy studies, measurement of economic understanding); & encouragement of youth/young adults to participate in the economic system after finishing school (research, conferences, outreach programs). Preference for projects that have a national scope. Proposals judged on significance, plan of operation, technical soundness and budget. Deadlines are 2/15 and 9/15 annually. ITEM:Institutuions may apply for one $500 grant/semester. Supports speaker fees for athletics department drug education and/or wellness programs. Eligibility is limited to active NCAA member institutions or conferences. Preference will be given to those institutions that meet the grant requirements on a first-come, first-served basis.
